The Foundry at a glance

The Foundry puts a one-car garage and a full workshop under a three-bedroom home on a 20 ft wide lot. From the street, a charcoal brick base and a charcoal frame hold warm vertical cedar around the upper windows, beside a full-height white cement-board entrance bay under a slim wood-soffit canopy. The street door opens to a protected entry with its own stair. From the alley, a 9 ft garage door and a separate walk-in door serve a 14 ft 6 in × 24 ft 9 in garage and a 14 ft 6 in × 14 ft 9 in workshop with a wall bench and a full-size assembly table. The living level has a front living room, a rear L-shaped kitchen with a 5 × 3 ft island, four-seat dining, a powder room and a home workstation. Upstairs, the primary bedroom spans the front with a king bed, a full wall of sliding wardrobes and a private shower ensuite. Two queen bedrooms share a hall bath with a tub, and a stacked laundry sits in the hall. The roof terrace adds 703 sq ft of outdoor space with a lounge, a pergola, an outdoor kitchen and its own powder room.
