Delivery day

Before the panels arrive

Delivery day goes smoothly when the site is ready. Your GC checks these before the first truck.

  • Check the foundation layout, elevations, bearing surfaces, anchors and penetrations against the project documents.
  • Arrange required inspections, access, crane setup, drainage and the next work area.
  • Review the truck route, turning space, overhead limits, unloading position and staging space.
  • Name the set crew, crane and installation lead, and confirm the lift plan, bracing and pick points.
  • Match the delivery list and assembly marks to the set plan, and record any damage or missing items with photos.

What builders and framers ask

All questions
I already have a framer. Can I keep them?

Yes. Keep your crew and have them set our panels. MBS can coordinate installation with your GC, and an installer training program is in development.

What does MBS provide and what do I provide?

You choose framing only (subcomponents and open framed walls for your framer), sheathed panels or standard closed panels. MBS supplies the factory package and coordinates delivery and technical support. Your GC leads panel setting and building completion, and MBS installation is available by agreement. Unless your agreement includes them, the owner or GC provides foundations, site work, utilities, follow-on trades and interior finishes.

What foundation do MBS panels need?

Any conventional foundation your engineer specifies: slab on grade, crawl space or full basement. Your GC pours it while the panels are in production. We size the panels from the survey and the permit set, and the foundation is finished and inspected before the delivery date is locked.

What does shipping cost?

Freight is priced into your estimate based on the truck count and distance. Our standard delivery range is 1,000 miles from St. Louis, and we ship anywhere in America based on project size and project pro forma. Send the site address with your plans.
